Aluminum, glass or steel: the best materials for automatic doors
Many buildings in sectors such as the retail sector, dedicated to commerce; hospitality, which includes hotels and restaurants; healthcare, residential or office buildings already have automatic doors at entrances from the outside as well as indoors.
At Manusa we install automatic doors that we manufacture with the best materials. This guarantees robustness, durability and high quality, without sacrificing functionality and aesthetics, helping to eliminate architectural barriers and optimizing energy savings in buildings.
To achieve this, our products are made from a variety of materials, such as iron, aluminum and steel, as well as glass and plastic. Each of these materials is selected for its unique properties that contribute to the efficiency and longevity of our automatic doors.
Aluminum automatic doors
One of the predominant materials used for our automatic doors is aluminum. This metal, known for its lightness and strength, is mainly used for the profiles and coverings of our doors. Aluminum is not only weather resistant, but also maintains its shape under extreme temperature conditions without expanding, contracting or deforming.
In many of the automatic doors we install, we treat the aluminum with an anodizing process, a chemical treatment that preserves the texture of the material and increases its resistance to corrosion. In addition, we offer a lacquering process, which allows further customization with a wide range of colors according to the RAL palette, adapting our automatic doors to the aesthetic and design needs of our customers.
Automatic doors with glass panes
In addition to the structure of the automatic doors, another relevant material in a large majority of our designs is glass. The leaves of many of our products are made of this material. We use high-strength glass, capable of enduring impact and adverse weather conditions, guaranteeing the safety and robustness required for intensive use in high traffic areas such as hospitals, airports and shopping malls.
We also include metallic elements in the operators of our automatic doors. These Visio+ motors are treated with anodized or lacquered finishes, as required. Anodizing creates a protective surface layer by means of an electrolytic process, while lacquering adds a layer of baked-on polymerized plastic paint.
Automatic stainless-steel doors for the healthcare sector
We also offer specialized solutions for applications requiring specific characteristics, such as the hermetic sliding doors we install in healthcare facilities. These doors, designed to be highly watertight, are manufactured with materials such as stainless steel and high-density laminates. They are also available in a wide range of HPL colors, offering unique customization options. The durability of an automatic door depends to a large extent on the materials it is made from. We must take into account that many of them withstand millions of cycles throughout their service life, such as our automatic pedestrian sliding doors with the Visio+ 100 and Visio+ 125 operators that achieved durability certification in accordance with UNE-EN 16361:2014+A1:2017.
In addition, preventive and routine maintenance of each product by specialized professionals extends their durability and ensures optimum performance. If you want to install our automatic doors in your building, contact us now and we will advise you on the best solution for your project.
