Interview with Alex Araguz, Service Sales Manager at Manusa

With more than 17 years in Manusa, Alex Araguz started as a sales representative in Catalonia, where he gained a deep knowledge of the product and the customers' needs. Since 2015, he has boosted the sale of maintenance contracts, first in Catalonia and then on a national scale. Thanks to his efforts and those of his team, Manusa has more than 20,000 active maintenance contracts, with a forecast for future growth.

How has the technology of automatic doors evolved since your beginnings in Manusa?

In the last almost 20 years, technology has advanced exponentially in general terms and the automatic doors manufactured by Manusa have not been an exception.

For example?

Technological improvements have increased people's safety as well as energy efficiency. IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity between the door and other devices now makes it possible to know its status and manage its operations remotely thanks to our DoorWifi application. Examples such as these have positioned our product as a benchmark in the national market.

How important is preventive maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of automatic doors?

It is essential to carry out preventive maintenance on automatic doors if we wish to extend the lifespan of our accesses and prevent any unexpected breakdowns. A simple adjustment or regulation at the right time could prevent it.

What can cause these breakdowns?

The passage of time together with continuous opening cycles, possible unintentional incidents, weather conditions or materials that wear out due to use, and so on...
