Automatic doors for new residential projects

As part of a new residential construction project on Rambla Guipúzcoa in Barcelona, Manusa has installed a standard automatic bi-parting sliding door at the main entrance to the building from the street.

The characteristics of the property demanded a modern, efficient solution in harmony with the architectural design of the building.

Easy access

Aware of the importance of an entrance that guarantees both security and accessibility, the architecture firm needed a door that would facilitate access for the neighbours. In addition, the design of the building required a solution that was functional and could be integrated into the façade without altering the modern aesthetics of the building.

One of the characteristics of this new building is the height of the entrance from the street. This called for an automatic door capable of adapting to its large dimensions without losing functionality. At Manusa we specialize in customized projects, meeting the needs of each client in a personalized way. We approached the project with the understanding that it was essential that access be fluid and without architectural barriers to ensure the comfort of all residents, especially those with reduced mobility.

Automatic doors allow natural light to enter from the outside

We have developed a solution that includes a standard, bi-parting automatic sliding door with fixed side panels and a robust, framed profile that blends harmoniously into the building’s façade. In order to optimize the entry of natural light and maintain a well-lit lobby throughout the day, the movable and fixed leaves are made of translucent vinyl, which, in addition to having a decorative function, provides greater privacy without blocking out light from the outside.

The overhead opening due to the high ceiling height in the lobby was used by installing an additional fixed panel up to the ceiling, which maintains the visual uniformity. All profiles, as well as the covering for the operator, were designed in an elegant anthracite gray color, which perfectly matches the profiles of the windows and other accesses to the building, maintaining aesthetic coherence with the façade.
