Automatic revolving doors at Hotel Porta Fira: aesthetics and energy efficiency

Hotels

The Porta Fira Hotel is an iconic building located in the Barcelona municipality of Hospitalet de Llobregat, designed by the Japanese architect Toyoo Itō, winner, among other awards, of the prestigious Pritzker Prize, the most important award in architecture.

This hotel, which stands out for its innovative design, required a solution that would match its aesthetics and functionality. The project managers entrusted our team with the installation of automatic doors that would improve the flow of people and their comfort when entering and leaving the facilities, in order to offer guests the best possible experience while increasing energy efficiency in the hotel.

Customized automatic doors for hotels

For this project, we installed two transparent automatic revolving doors, with the motors concealed under the floor, ensuring full integration with the facade of the Hotel Porta Fira. The result is a completely uniform transparency.

This particular model of automatic door offers maximum visibility thanks to its glazing and thin steel profiles. Its transparency allows natural light to enter the reception area and provides guests and hotel staff with a clear, unobstructed view of the outside. In addition, at the client's request, the glass was customized with different vinyls, adding a distinctive and personal touch to the building's front doors.

Revolving doors to optimize hotel energy efficiency

The project managers were also looking for a solution that would optimize the building's energy efficiency, maintaining internal climate control and avoiding energy loss, while ensuring a comfortable and pleasant indoor environment. Thanks to their design, our automatic doors guarantee perfect thermal and acoustic insulation, preventing drafts and temperature fluctuations.

Automatic doors that improve security

Manusa automatic revolving doors meet the highest requirements in terms of functionality, hygiene and safety. In this last aspect, it is worth mentioning that the doors feature anti-hand-trapping and anti-heel-trapping safety systems and an emergency button that stops the movement of the automatic door if necessary.

At Manusa we collaborate with architects, engineers and construction companies to integrate our solutions into their hotel projects. If you want more information about how we can help you, contact us now and our team of professionals will advise you in a personalized way.
