Casa Saúde Santa Filomena

Sanitary

Founded in 1953, the Casa de Saúde de Santa Filomena is located in the centre of Coimbra; since its beginnings, it has been committed to providing excellent medical care to the population.

It is currently part of SANFIL MEDICINA which is part of the GLOBAL HEALTH COMPANY group, which has a total of three hospitals and six clinics throughout Portugal.

In recent years, the Casa de Saúde de Santa Filomena has received considerable investment. Its facilities have been modernised and expanded; the acquisition of modern equipment, as well as the creation of a diagnostic imaging service has expanded its diagnostic spectrum, to include all areas of radiology/imaging.

It was precisely in the building where imaging tests are performed that Manusa Portugal installed automatic doors. In the field of medicine, imaging is the process of creating images of areas inside the body, using X-rays or ultrasound tests (MRI, mammography, densitometry or ultrasound).

The main access door to the building is a bi-parting automatic door with fixed leaves and overhead transom. The glass panes of the leaves were used to display useful information for patients, such as opening hours and the type of tests that are carried out at the health centre. In addition, the input sensor has a cover to protect it from the sun or other atmospheric conditions so that its operation is not adversely affected.

Imaging methods include, among others, the use of X-rays (high-energy radiation), ultrasound (high-energy sound waves) and radio waves. It is also called imaging.
