Efficiency in Bangkok Jomtien Hospital's operating theatres
Opened in 2020, Jomtien Hospital in Bangkok is a modern secondary care facility with a total of 232 beds. This hospital offers a wide range of medical services, including internal medicine, surgical services, orthopaedics, gynaecology, paediatrics, emergency care and an intensive care unit. Thanks to this wide range of services, the hospital has become a benchmark for medical care in the region, providing specialised and quality healthcare to its patients.
To optimise efficiency in their operating theatres, three single slide opening hermetic doors were installed, all in white HPL finish, including vision panel and tubular handle. These doors are specifically designed for environments where sterility and control of environmental conditions are paramount, such as operating theatres. What stands out in this system is the use of a special interface that allows full or partial opening of the doors, depending on the activated device.
The door opening system offers two main options: the touchless switch and the foot-operated sensor. When the touchless switch is activated, the door opens partially, allowing only one person to pass through, which is ideal for reducing the loss of controlled air in the operating theatre. On the other hand, if the foot sensor is used, the door opens fully, allowing patient stretchers to pass through, maintaining operational efficiency in emergency situations.
This system ensures that the temperature, humidity and pressure conditions inside the operating theatre remain stable, which is crucial for patient safety and the success of surgical procedures.
