Entrance to the emergency room of Clínica Del Sur Achs Salud

Clínica Del Sur is one of the main clinics in the Chilean city of Concepción, whose primary objective is quality medical care.  

To this end, major renovations were carried out on its facilities, as well as the construction of new areas within the clinic, in order to offer a better and more complete service to the more than 25,000 patients who visit the centre every month. 

The access to the Accident and Emergency Department was one of the remodelled areas, where automatic doors were installed by Manusa Chile. 

Privacy and Safety for Accident and Emergency Department Accesses 

These are bi-parting doors with fixed leaves, which facilitate smooth, safe and fast transit in an access area where there is a constant flow of people. In addition, in order to maintain privacy, and considering this is such a ‘sensitive’ area, the leaves were opaque and vinyl coated to facilitate entry to Accident and Emergency Department from the outside.  

In hospital environments, patient privacy is an essential priority to ensure their well-being and safety. This glass limits visibility from the outside to the inside, protecting patients from unwanted glances and providing a safer and quieter environment. At the same time, these panes can maintain a certain light permeability, which helps to prevent areas from feeling completely closed-off or dark.  

The use of opaque glass in hospitals offers an effective and modern solution to balance privacy and functionality, improving both the patient experience and the operational efficiency of the facility.
