FIVClínic for assisted reproduction treatments
Founded in 1906, Hospital Clínic de Barcelona is a public university hospital that forms part of the Network of Public Hospitals of Catalonia (XHUP). With a long tradition in research, it has become an international benchmark institution in fields such as optics, tissue engineering and assisted reproduction.
This is how the FIVClínic project was born, a centre in which activities related to gynaecology and obstetrics are carried out, as well as foetal medicine, treating infertility problems, and developing different assisted-reproduction techniques, such as in-vitro fertilisation.
It has two operating theatres and the Assisted Reproduction Unit, as well as rooms in which patients are treated in a private and personalised manner, providing psychological support throughout the entire Assisted Reproduction process for those patients who need it.
Manusa Automatic Doors for Different Spaces
Various types of doors were installed at the FIVClínic, depending on the specific needs.
For access to certain areas, automatic bi-parting doors with framed glass around the entire perimeter and fixed leaves were chosen. Thanks to the rubber seal at the closing point, airtightness, so necessary in such an environment, is guaranteed.
In the rooms where the samples are deposited, it was decided to install hermetic doors with a stainless steel finish and circular vision panel that lies flush with the surface. This maintains airtightness, but also makes it easier to see inside the laboratory without having to open the door.
For the operating theatres as well as the laboratories, glass hermetic doors were installed, which allow full visibility from the outside. The leaves open by means of proximity sensors, thus avoiding any physical contact with the door.
