Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Hilti Store
Since the appearance of large shopping malls and hypermarkets in society in the late 20th century and early 21st century, thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises around the world have seen their business threatened. Many had to close and others had to reinvent themselves so as not to lose customers or profits at the end of the month.
At present, the unstoppable growth in e-commerce must be added to this, which has meant that anyone can buy any product on their mobile phone or computer.
One of the companies that has been able to maintain its presence in both digital and physical format is Hilti. A company specialising in the sale of professional tools for construction, which is present on the Spanish mainland and in the Balearic Islands.
For its physical store in Palma de Mallorca, at the main entrance was installed a standard automatic sliding door. It consists of two bi-parting doors with two fixed leaves, and both the moving and fixed leaves are transparent.
The sliding central leaves have a single aluminium profile that is fixed at the top of the glass to give total transparency. The operator is built in and hidden in the design of the main access to the store.
This means that customers can enter and exit the establishment without having to move the door with their hands. This is extremely favourable when shopping and your hands are full of the products bought.
Companies in the retail sector are destined to install this type of product in their physical spaces. Customers seek greater convenience when shopping and this type of detail marks the difference.
