Maharaj Nakhon Sri Hospital Renovation
The hospital's origins date back to the 1950s, when it began as a small regional care centre in Bangkok. Over the years, the hospital grew in size and services to become one of the most important hospitals in the city. Today, it has more than 800 beds and offers a wide range of medical specialities, consolidating its position as an institution of reference in the region.
Thanks to the cooperation with Paneles Matic, 28 single-slide opening hermetic sliding doors were installed. Of these, 14 are leaded hermetic doors, which were implemented in critical areas such as operating theatres and x-ray rooms. These doors play a key role in ensuring the highest levels of sterility, safety and efficiency in these specialised spaces.
The design of the leaded doors includes continuous lead sheets lined inside, which overlap with the leaded walls of the radiology rooms. This ensures adequate radiation protection, benefiting both patients and hospital staff. The door seal must comply with radiation safety standards.
In addition, the airtightness of doors in operating theatres is vital to ensure a sterile and controlled environment during surgery. It prevents the entry of contaminated air from other areas of the hospital, which significantly reduces the risk of infections in patients. It also offers precise control of factors such as temperature and humidity, which not only ensures patient comfort, but also optimises the operation of medical equipment and contributes to successful surgical procedures.
