New doors for operating theatres at the University Clinical Centre in Sarajevo

Sanitary

The University of Sarajevo Clinical Centre stands out as the leading health, scientific and educational institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The centre offers a wide range of specialised and sub-specialised healthcare services and is renowned for its high quality.

It currently employs more than 700 doctors and has 2,030 beds in 33 separate buildings, some of which are still under construction. In addition, the centre is equipped with advanced medical technology to ensure the best care for its patients.

To optimise access to the operating theatres, bi-parting hermetic doors have been installed. These doors are equipped with tubular handles and square vision panels which, in many cases, include automatic Venetian blinds. These blinds can be operated via a push button, allowing privacy inside the rooms to be managed as required.

Thanks to automation, they are closed effectively; furthermore, healthcare staff don’t need to make contact with the surfaces when accessing the operating theatre or intensive care ward. As an added value, in the event of a power failure, these doors can be easily opened and closed manually thanks to the strap system equipped on the operator.

In intensive care units (ICU), where constant vigilance is essential due to the specialised care required by critically ill patients, automatic glass hermetic doors have been installed. These doors not only provide complete isolation, but also allow clear visibility of the interior, facilitating continuous monitoring of patients without compromising privacy and security. In this way, the design and equipment of the University of Sarajevo Clinical Centre ensures an optimal environment for both health professionals and patients, improving efficiency and quality of service.

With these innovations, the centre reaffirms its commitment to excellence in healthcare in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
