Pequeno Príncipe Hospital

Sanitary

The Pequeño Príncipe Paediatric Hospital, located in Curitiba, Brazil, was founded in 1919 through the efforts of a group of local women committed to caring for children. These volunteers began by providing free medical assistance and distributing medicines to children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability, marking the beginning of what is now a reference institution in paediatric care.

Over time, the hospital has established itself as one of the most prestigious centres in its field, not only for the medical care it provides, but also for its focus on research and teaching of advanced paediatric diagnostic and treatment techniques. The Little Prince is characterised by its comprehensive care, which not only seeks to treat illnesses, but also to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of its patients. It has also been recognised on several occasions by the prestigious US magazine ‘Newsweek’ as one of the best paediatric hospitals in the world.

The company Manusa do Brasil participated in the modernisation of the hospital facilities. It was responsible for the installation of various access solutions in key areas of the medical centre, such as the ambulance entrance. Automatic bi-parting opening doors with fixed leaves were installed there, allowing fast and efficient access of the stretchers to the hospital. This design ensures that in emergency situations, where every second is vital, the patient can enter unhindered. In addition, these doors are equipped with an emergency system that guarantees their operation even in the event of a power failure, ensuring continuous access to the hospital at all times.
