Manusa is a pioneer and a leader in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of automatic doors in Spain and a global benchmark. Josep Mª Guilera i Nubiola founded Manusa in 1966, a company that started producing manual overhead cranes, developing the most advanced models and registering several patents. Three years later, in 1969, the production of automatic doors began, with innovative solutions that were distributed internationally from the very beginning. From the very beginning, the market appreciated the new contributions and the quality of the Manusa automatic doors: their advances have made the automatic door locking systems and the market as a whole evolve.

Therefore, in 1971 Manusa introduced automatic doors with pneumatic technology into the market; in 1991, it implemented a microprocessor for the electronic management of the doors; and, only five years later, it revolutionised the market again with the first universal operator.

Manusa's service and innovation, together with the quality of its automatic doors, soon led to a growing demand both in Spain and all over the world. That is why Manusa opened subsidiaries in Portugal and Brazil in 2012, and expanded its factory in Valls (Tarragona) in order to respond to the needs of the market. In 2018 it opened a second production plant in Polinyà (Barcelona).

In light of the growing market in Asia, Manusa decided to open a factory in China in 2021 in order to be able to provide a faster and more effective response, especially in the healthcare sector.
