Installation of a high-capacity revolving door at the Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento Hotel

Located on the Isla de la Cartuja, on the banks of the emblematic Guadalquivir River, the  Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento Hotel stands out for its first-class architecture and services, but above all for being a benchmark for large-scale events thanks to its Seville International Convention Center (SICC). So much so that it was awarded the title of best congress hotel in Spain in 2024.

Manusa carried out the project for the installation of the main access door to the hotel's convention centre. The solution had to meet the high standards of excellence of the Barceló Group and, at the same time, respond to the requirements of a hotel with the capacity to hold international congresses. The access not only had to be integrated with the architecture of the building but also guarantee agile and efficient access, especially at times of high flow of people attending events at the convention centre. At the same time, it had to reconcile these aspects with the comfort and safety of the hotel's guests.

A high-capacity automatic revolving door to reconcile activity and comfort

In order to address the challenges presented by the access to a hotel of these characteristics, the option was the installation of a Manusa high-capacity automatic revolving door, which offers a comprehensive solution to the different needs.

Its design allows free, agile, and contact-free access, facilitating the intense flow of people, which is essential for events with a large influx of people. A solution that adapts to people with reduced mobility, to whom it offers barrier-free access. In addition, its wide passage space also allows the entry of loads of a certain volume, such as material for congresses or catering services.

Manusa automatic revolving doors are designed to keep the interior isolated at all times. The installation of this door in the main access reduces the entrance of noise and other external agents, providing the necessary silence during conferences and guaranteeing the comfort of the hotel. In addition to this, it provides energy efficiency, as the installed door contributes to thermal stability and lower consumption in air conditioning, as well as maintaining the feeling of comfort already mentioned.

From an aesthetic and functional point of view, its glazed structure allows the passage of natural light, creating a more open and luminous environment, while allowing a clear view of the activity on the other side of the door. Integration with the architecture of the space can also be achieved thanks to the customised finishes of this type of door.

Another unique feature of this automatic revolving door is that it integrates two manual swing doors in its central part. The internal manual doors ensure the safety of people in the event of a malfunction of the mechanism or a possible emergency requiring a rapid evacuation of the premises. In addition to this layer of safety, the door can be closed at night if necessary.

As a result, installing the Manusa high-capacity automatic revolving door in the Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento Hotel made it possible to optimise the intense flow of pedestrians characteristic of a convention centre, without renouncing the comfort and requirements of a hotel.
